Story Time
On a rainy, muddy day, we hiked through Horringer Tea Estate in Tigoni.
Tigoni is only an hour away from Nairobi so we left Nairobi at 7 am.
It rained half the time we were in the road.
We kept hoping for clear skies. However, even if the rain persisted, we’d still hike. After all, we had our rain gear and change of clothes in the car. Please remember to always carry those two in all your hikes.
As we begun our hike, it was cold, foggy and drizzling.

The trail is steep but manageable especially with a hiking pole. This is another item that is helpful on the trails mostly during descent. It eases pressure off the knees.
We explored the beauty of Tigoni. The lush green of the tea, the trees in the middle of the tea farms, the streams of water. Nature’s therapy.
The company was awesome as we chatted the whole way. People who had not met in a while met on this hike. We made new friends.Â

We took about 4 hours on the trails. The sun came out as we were almost done. So we took advantage and did a photo shoot.
After we were done, we headed on to Buxton Tunnel in Limuru town. It is the longest underground train track -2 Km. It is advisable to go with a police officer as the area is unsafe. Visit the local police station and hire one.
