Suits – Battle Of The Brains

Some time ago as I was looking for series to watch, I kinda just fell on this one. Mostly because of Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex. I was curious because people said she was such a great actress and had now given it up for the love of her life. So I was curious. And I got pulled in so hard, am already in season 9 which is the finale sobsob.

This is the one series I have been so hooked to this year. When I started watching, I wasn’t exactly excited about it. But when I got to learn each of the characters, all I wanted was more.

They are all strong characters with diverse personalities.

Even with varying personalities, they understand that they are a family and each one of them matter. So whenever they come at each other, they find a way to reconnect. That’s the one thing I admire about suits characters.

Try coming against one of them, and they all roar at you.

Suits is a battle of brains.

As the series starts, Mike Ross (real name Patrick J. Adams) and Harvey Specter (real name Gabriel Macht) will catch your full attention. Their connection is on another level. The way Mike gets to work for the firm is quite interesting and against the law, which eventually catches up with them and brings a lot of trouble on the firm. Mike’s secret even ruins relationships and somehow even those affected keep protecting him.

Besides Mike’s secret and its effects, the firm goes through a whole lot of storms. The names on the wall will change quite often. So be ready for drama and moments where you’ll hope with your all that things go well for them.

In a law firm, the lowest rank is an associate then a junior partner then a senior partner then a named partner and lastly the managing partner who is chosen from the named partners.
Getting their name on the wall (named partner) is every lawyer’s goal.

In suits you will learn a lot of new terms like deposition, you will learn law, that to withhold information is a crime.

These characters love their job so much they leave the office when the job is done. It’s a series which shows people that are passionate about what they do for a living. Their lives revolve around the job they love and will fight with all they’ve got to keep it.

No one ever quits because the job is hard, they stay and fight and seek help when it’s due. They like to pull the ‘you owe me’ card.

Being vulnerable is their way of life, no one hides their true selves from others and if they do, the others find a way to make them face it. Donna Paulsen (real name Sarah Rafferty), she is special in making her workmates see the bigger picture.

I admire their family like setting because even when they do talk about each other behind their backs, their aim is usually to help and they do help. This is unlike most of the people we know – who gossip to feel better about themselves at the expense of the victim, which simply shows weakness.

You will definitely draw life lessons just from watching suits – it’s not your normal romance or action film, it’s mental, challenges your thinking.

You will learn that besides a good career, family is very important.

The show also says it’s okay to seek help when in the thick of it. Louis Litt (real name Rick Hoffman) and Harvey Specter (real name Gabriel Macht) show us that visiting the therapist is okay. It even gives them more clarity and helps them to keep going.

If someone’s meant for you, you two will find your way back to each other. Am speaking for Louis and Sheila Sazs (real name Rachael Harris), Jessica Pearson (real name Gina Torres) and Jeff Malone (real name David Bryan Woodside). About Harvey and Donna, stick around till season 9 to find out.

Just like your own life script, in suits, new characters will pop in and out. Some big characters will leave. You will feel some type of emptiness and want to tear down like I did. New characters will come and stay to leave a mark – Samantha Wheeler (real name Katherine Heigl) and Alex Williams (real name Dulé Hill’s). Oh I just love Samantha, besides her scars, she is so strong willed and a fighter.

When I began this review I talked about Meghan Markle, her cast name is Rachael Zain, she is the sweetest girl. She fights her way from paralegal to lawyer despite her father not believing in her. And she practices law by her lawyer husband’s side (stick around to find out who).

I just read somewhere that suits is like Game of Thrones, but in suits.

I would totally want another one just like suits. Fyi, I watched it all on my phone ( my 2nd home).  You can get it on Netflix or your local movie store.
